The experimental drug, which is still in clinical trials, is being promoted by online personalities for its alleged weight-reducing properties. Followers are urged to contact these profiles privately for supplier links, while also obtaining discount codes.

Thriving Trade on Messaging Platforms

Separately, a robust trade exists on messaging services, where groups with numerous of participants share “before and after” photos, injection guides and assertions of next-day British shipping. Sellers promote the drug there before directing buyers to WhatsApp for purchases.

After minutes of joining one group, a vendor shared WhatsApp details, where most purchases occur. The seller provided an instruction manual and guaranteed delivery within 48 hours. When questioned whether the product was genuine, one seller said: “You can’t be sure.” Another provided a photo of a alleged testing documentation. None asked about weight, medical conditions or past usage.

A medical professional of an online medical service connected the surge in demand to current price rises for approved slimming drugs such as Mounjaro. “With prices rising, individuals are turning to online platforms.
